Beyond the Pitch

When the phone rings in the midst of a busy day, I often sense somehow that the person on the other end of the phone is desperately seeking something that they can’t find in any “pitch” I might make. Hidden in the unsaid is the real question that is on the caller’s mind: “Can I be successful in this business with you?” In general, ad-response callers seem to be looking for integrity and total honesty and they have an expectation for mentorship that will extend way beyond just helping them join an MLM company.

One might even say, such callers are seeking something “beyond the pitch” that will provide what has been, for them, the missing link. This is an opportunity for you to discover if you are coming up short in your search for the “right” opportunity.

You see, up until now, you may have thought that you needed “the right product,” the “right pay plan,” the “right materials,” the “right sponsor” or the “right system.”

You certainly do need those, but most of all, you need the right attitude and the ability to become, and remain, ten feet tall and bulletproof. You will find that if you create a huge MLM business from scratch in today’s marketplace, it will more than likely be because of who you become, rather than what you say and do. It’s not so much about “doing” as it is about “being.”

However, here’s where the formula for success becomes confusing. In order to “be” a certain way, you will need to “do” some things according to a work plan, while you evolve your inner self in the process.

Here’s what I mean: a good program for you might be to read 30 minutes of personal development work as your day starts, and follow by spending the morning “doing,” such things as cold-calling leads to screen for your business presentation. A coaching call afterwards with an upline mentor will be invaluable in helping you “re-group” and become more effective in your phoning skills.

One thing’s for sure . . . the effectiveness of the “doing” is greatly affected by the power of the “being.” You will attract people by your presence if you have a strong awareness of purpose and if you are self-confident. You will then evolve into the mindset of helping others achieve their dreams, rather than centering on what you want.

Of course, I understand that you have legitimate wants and needs, but the problem with many unsuccessful people in the MLM industry is that they spend most, if not all of their time, worrying about their own income, dreams and objectives.

I can guarantee that you will win every trip contest your company has from now on, if you follow my proven formula: Find 6 distributors in your organization who want to win the trip and throw yourself into a frenzied commitment to do whatever it takes to help them get there. You are virtually assured of qualifying your own position in the process . . . and of driving your income up very dramatically without an ounce of self-centeredness.

As a matter of fact, even though my husband, Taylor Hegan, and I have earned a little over 8 million dollars with our First Fitness business during the almost 16 years we’ve been distributors, we still do the elements of the business everyday: retailing, sponsoring, training, mentoring and encouraging, while evaluating the effectiveness of what we’re doing.

I want you to realize if you, or others in your organization, aren’t succeeding in this business, perhaps the reason you aren’t succeeding has nothing to do with “what” you have been emphasizing. Perhaps, with “what” you have been emphasizing, you’ll stay unsuccessful until you fully comprehend and implement the message I’ve written for you here.

I am fully committed to make a difference in the industry, not just to achieve financial freedom and a lifestyle that I love. I’ve already done both of those!

I hope that you can use the wisdom of these words and let them guide you to becoming an industry superstar. You can go “beyond the pitch” to representing true purpose and opportunity for all. That is what most of the opportunity seekers who call you are really looking for . . . whether they know how to vocalize it or not.
